Chinese New Year

The Spring Festival in 2021 was particularly special after 2020’s celebrations were cancelled due to Covid-19. Observing the incoming Year of the Ox felt like not only the biggest celebration in the Chinese calendar but also a sign of a country emerging from the Covid pandemic. The bursts of vibrant red from decorations were fun to photograph, and I tried to capture the excitement of the people of Shanghai.
